ControlRoom - Operator Guide

Everything you need to run the show.

1 · Set up (once)

Sign in as host, open Admin, and use People & Logins to create one personal login per caster. Their saved identity supplies the same name to cards, chat, and rankings automatically. Shared passwords remain emergency access. The OBS Browser Sources are http://localhost:4300/overlay, /slideshow?album=a, /slideshow?album=b, /slideshow?album=c (Memes) and /rankings at 1920×1080.

2 · Pull it up

  • Build a card (Text, Image, Web, Match, or Player Stats) at the bottom of the Panel View tab.
  • Add to Ready Rack to queue it for the panel.
  • Click TAKE to LIVE on a rack card to put it on the overlay.
  • Push LIVE now skips the rack for something urgent.
  • Clear LIVE overlay takes it back off air.
  • The red ON AIR lamp (top-left, by the logo) tracks your real Twitch broadcast - it lights only while the channel is actually streaming.

3 · Who can push (Director mode)

The host can flip Director-only. Off = anyone can TAKE to air. On = cohosts fill the rack but only the host pushes live - so nothing hits air without the operator.

4 · Photos

Guest Pictures sits at the top of the tab - it is the Guest Interview photo folder, and it replaced the Dropbox one. The GuestFace slot on the left is the big centre portrait; drop one photo there. Everything in the grid beside it goes out as GuestPic1, GuestPic2… the numbered reveals the Stream Deck steps through, in the order they sit here - reorder them freely, the portrait never moves. ★ Face on a tile swaps it into the portrait slot (the old one drops back into the grid). No portrait means the guest's Steam picture stands in.

Below it, three independent albums - each its own OBS slideshow (/slideshow?album=a, ?album=b and ?album=c, the last one named Memes). Rename any of them at the top of its column. Drop in photos/video ahead of the show; reorder a tile; drag a tile off the grid to delete it (captions are Guest Pictures only). ▶ From here jumps that album's slideshow to the item. (The Photos tab of the program.py desktop palette pulls stills from both albums, the guest photos, and the Dropbox Pictures folder.)

4½ · Power Rankings

Its own tab. A personal login opens that caster's saved board automatically; drag teams into order and it saves instantly. Lock in files that board for the week (a ✓ that auto-resets Monday 6am) and is what the ▲/▼ arrows measure from. Week by Week below is the record: every week anyone locked in, pick one to see it as filed, with its deltas against the week before. The host can edit the shared team list. OBS browser sources: /rankings (all boards side by side), /rankings?view=combined (all boards + aggregate together), /rankings?view=aggregate (aggregate only), and /rankings?view=movers (Biggest Winner / Biggest Loser — the two teams that gained and lost the most places on the aggregate since last week). That card also comes up on the Stream Deck highlight button while the Power Rankings scene is live: it replaces the board on whatever rankings source is on that scene, and a second press (or any scene change) puts the board back.

4¾ · Panel Chat

Lives in the column beside the board on the Panel View tab - no tab of its own. Live text coordination for the host, panel, and guests. Cohosts use their normal password; chat guests use CONTROLROOM_GUEST_PASSWORD and see the chat alone. Power Rankings credentials do not unlock it. In OBS, add http://localhost:4300/chat under Docks → Custom Browser Docks.

5 · Chyron

Presets for the lower-third bar (the same bar Special Guest uses, shown on the Panel scene). Type a line and + Save preset to keep it, or Push Live now to skip saving. Click ▶ Push Live on any preset to swap the bar instantly. Director-only mode (above) gates who can push here too - the bar itself still needs its Stream Deck mute switch ON. Toggle 🔴 Breaking News mode below it to open a separate section for urgent one-off lines - Push Breaking flashes it in white on red over the regular bar on every scene the chyron is normally allowed on; Clear takes it down.

5½ · Schedule rundown

Pick a kind and hit + Add segment - it lands named for its kind (Special Guest, Musical Guest, or New Segment). Drag a row anywhere on it into order. Click its ▶ to make it live - the selected row becomes Now and the row directly after it becomes Up Next; both save instantly for everyone. Firing the 7-second split bar is still done from the Stream Deck's Up Next button.

Click directly on a row's name to rename it in place. Double-click anywhere else on the row (or click its ▸) to open it: on a Special Guest row, fill the guest-name field there (this is now the one place that sets the guest tag guest.html/lower-third use), and add beats - talking points that show automatically under the current segment on Panel View; double-click another segment there to reveal its beats for review. Each beat also carries its own ▶ Chyron button here on Schedule to push that line live. Use 💾 Save as template to reuse that segment later. The header above the list can save/load the whole rundown as a template too.

The transport now sits above Run of Show on Panel View: Back and Advance move the show a segment at a time for everyone (the same move as clicking a row's ▶), [ and ] do it from the keyboard, and the backtime pill starts on the first advance and tells you whether you're ahead or behind.
